A tremendous reminder on the importance of observing patience during times of hardship by our noble brother and teacher Abū Isḥāq Nadīm, as part of the sisters’ mental health seminar II. Indeed, one can consider calamities as a sign of Allāh’s love for the patient and sincere believer because, by His permission, they purify him and expiate his sins. We find comfort in the words of the Messenger of Allāh,
مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُصِبْ مِنْهُ
“If Allāh intends good for someone, then he afflicts him with trials.”
Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5321
Indeed, Islām is a complete and perfect religion which addresses all aspects and situations that a person faces in this worldly life. From amongst such situations is the issue of mental well-being, physical well-being, and a person’s state at the time of being tested by Allāh; indeed, every test that a person is afflicted with is from Allāh.
